Overview
Student goals and capabilities

Virtual Internship Opportunity

Bring on a student from Humber College in to be your virtual intern! The student will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

The student is available for 160 hours of for-credit work experience.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project. The student should complete 160 hours with your organization.

Project Examples

Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.

All students seeking a placement have work experience, and the vast majority have a prior degree or diploma.

The students seeking virtual placements have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Project management
  • Marketing operations
  • Human Resources
  • Marketing and sales

If you are interested in offering a virtual placement to one of the students, please submit a project describing one of the major types of work the student would be doing for your organization.

Additional organization criteria

Organizations must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact on a daily basis, or as needed.

Placements are for-credit experience for students, but honorariums are welcomed if your organization is able to provide a stipend for the student.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
