Overview
Student goals and capabilities

Our 2nd year design students embark on a redesign of a responsive (mobile-friendly) website each fall. We are looking for client partners for this project, one partner per term. Let our students redesign your website!

We are looking for mid-size businesses or organizations who have an older website in need of a redesign. If this is you, we'd love to talk!

This project is part of the Interaction Design 1 course in the 4-year Honours Bachelor of Design program at Humber College.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Clients would receive PDF versions of all student deliverables.

The commitment we would need from our client is roughly as follows:

1. A 1-2 hour kickoff meeting with our students (remote is fine)

2. Access for occasional questions from students

3. Available for a presentation of the student's work (2-3 hours)

4. Permission for students to use their work in their personal portfolios for job search purposes.

A token "prize" for students would be appreciated but is completely optional.

Project Examples

As part of the project, our students:

-interview the client re. their target audiences and requirements

-design the information architecture for the website (how the site will be organized)

-design the navigation systems for the site

-design 5-8 pages of the design in wireframe format

-design 3-5 of these pages as full, production ready mock-ups (including all creative, fonts, images etc)

Additional organization criteria

Organizations must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Availability for 1-2 hour kick-off session

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Availability for final presentations from students (2-3 hours)
