Students
Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will be in contact (virtually) with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.
Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.
Phase 3 - Outcome – Each student-consultant group will submit a hiring manual that includes some or all of the following:
- Workflows of business processes.
- References to job analysis/job descriptions.
- Templates for job postings.
- Legal compliance information.
- Suggested recruitment methods by job type.
- Resume management recommendations.
- Candidate shortlisting techniques.
- Recommendations on the use of tests.
- Interview procedures.
- Reference check templates.
- Onboarding plans.

Project Examples
Requirements
Starting this September, a class of continuing education student-consultants will spend 1,500 collective hours developing an effective hiring manual for your organization's managers and supervisors.
Through understanding your organization's current practices and analyzing opportunities for improvement, student-consultant groups will provide a comprehensive guide to optimize your hiring processes.
Example projects include, but are not limited to:
- Diagnosing the current state of recruitment and selection practices in your organization and identifying challenges faced in attracting talented and qualified individuals.
- Developing a plan to create content and tools (e.g. “hiring toolkit”) that will serve to train hiring managers and supervisors.
- Integrating recommendations for a more efficient and reliable internal system to manage the recruitment and selection processes.
