I regret to share that my experience with the Combat Fitness Sales Funnel/Process Audit project was extremely discouraging. From the beginning, the company failed to attend the scheduled introduction meeting and later missed several exit meetings as well, leaving the project without meaningful direction or engagement. Although I was told that the work would be closely guided and collaborative, that was not the reality. Over nearly four months, far longer than the originally stated timeline, I was unable to receive feedback on my work from teammates, AscentUP staff, or Combat Fitness representatives. Instead, I was left to navigate an entirely new area on my own without support. This lack of communication, structure, and accountability made the internship feel less like a professional development opportunity and more like unpaid and unsupported labor. While I did gain the insight that some companies do not take internships seriously, the overall experience was frustrating and has left me hesitant to consider similar opportunities in the future.
