Details

The project aims to conduct a comprehensive user experience analysis for the Safe personal finance app. Safe seeks to enhance its app by gaining insights into user preferences, dislikes, and expectations. The goal is to identify key areas for improvement and innovation in the app's design and functionality. By understanding user behaviour and feedback, the project will help shape the future development of the app, ensuring it meets user needs more effectively. The project involves gathering and analyzing user feedback through surveys, interviews, and app usage data. The team will focus on identifying patterns and trends in user interactions and preferences. This analysis will provide actionable insights to improve user satisfaction and engagement with the app.

Deliverables

Week 1-2: Onboarding & App Familiarization

  • Download and explore the Safe app
  • Meet with the founder to understand the app’s purpose and features
  • Learn how to run user tests and create feedback forms
  • Review existing user feedback and learn about design features of the app


Week 3-4: User Testing & Data Collection

  • Recruit 8–10 students to try the app (we’ll help!)
  • Run short (15–20 min) test sessions where you observe people using the app
  • Ask follow-up questions like:
  • What did you expect this button to do?
  • What confused you?
  • What felt helpful or easy?
  • Document each session (notes or recordings)
  • Create a simple feedback survey (we’ll help guide you)


Week 5: Organizing and Summarizing Feedback

  • Group feedback into categories: design, user experience/journey, features, feelings, etc.
  • Highlight top 3 themes you heard the most
  • Make a short slideshow or PDF with:
  • Summary of what users said
  • Your suggestions to improve the app


Week 6: Final Presentation

  • Present your findings to the team (informal Zoom presentation)
  • Suggest next steps for future user testing
  • Optional: Help update our current FAQ or onboarding to match user feedback
