Audience-Centered Content Strategy Using AI

This experience is a part of the CCA AI Readiness Consortium. Through employer-educator partnership, this experience will bring AI competencies into curricula. Students will apply writing and research skills as well as AI tools to complete project deliverables.. This project will immerse undergraduate learners in the process of analyzing, developing, and refining nonprofit communication strategies using large language models (LLMs) and traditional communication best practices. In groups of 3-5 students, learners will partner with a community-based organization to review existing materials, research and segment target audiences, and create revised content tailored to each segment. They will use AI tools for summarizing, audience analysis, and initial drafting, while applying critical thinking and composition skills to refine and critique AI-generated content. The project will emphasize ethical AI use, clarity, tone, and alignment with nonprofit values.The objective is to enable learners to apply their writing, research, and analytical skills—enhanced by AI tools—to strengthen a nonprofit’s communication effectiveness. The details of the delieverables will be co-created with the employer and professor.
