In this course, we will examine how to map out and establish project and process management strategies to improve performance, productivity, and profit using the business model canvas and other strategic tools to achieve the desired outcomes.

The key concepts of HRM will be taught and executed into Human Resource Strategic Plan Presentation of an Organization by the students. The course will cover the role of human resources, skills needed in HRM, Strategic plan creation, diversity, inclusion, equity, recruitment, selection, retention, job analysis and design, employee assessment, talent and performance management as well as communication.
Principles of Risk and Insurance Management
An individual or team of students from the University of California Riverside, University Extension can provide a fresh perspective, analysis, and recommendations for consideration, to support your organization with a specific problem or process. Using a consultant-friendly, project-driven approach, they will work together to research a Risk Management topic ( i.e. risk management culture, data assembly, risk analysis, strategic decisions, continuous improvement, legal issues, insurance, risk management process, etc. ). Students will conduct a comprehensive literature review (research) and investigate a specific risk management topic on behalf of a Client (business organization). Any potential gaps between the literature and the practical application of the Client’s proposed topic will be identified and recommendations made for improvement. Note : The class size will be updated, to represent the total # of students who actually select and complete a project with a Riipen partnering organization.

This Course allows students to demonstrate their proficiency in the key concepts of business analytics. As a capstone project, students will understand and critically apply the concepts and methods of business analytics., analytical skills, data visualization, data mining, data warehouse, and big data analytics throughout the program. Through this course, students will acquire soft (communications) and hard (technical) skills to support business analytics projects and decision-making. We will focus on using methodologies and analytical tools to solve real-world problems in R&D, marketing, supply chain, healthcare, finance, and so on.

Students at the University of California, Riverside Extension program will work on Effective Performance Management issues for your organization. They will apply Effective Performance Management to your corporate goals, mission, and vision. Effective performance management is result driven providing satisfaction and a win -win situation to employer and employees of the firm. The focus of this course will be to incorporate Adaptative Performance Management by solving problems creatively, handle uncertain situations, to improve ability to handle stress as well as risk, improve interpersonal skills, and learn new tasks, including adapt to new cultural values. The project will focus on creating and managing a high-performance workforce, which is the critical component of organizational success. They will also examine alignment of business strategy, pursuing smart goals, evaluating performance, as well as implementing a performance system, and the impact it has on human performance. Measurement tools and techniques will be explored, as well as how to design and deliver performance recognition and rewards.
