Mindful Knots: A Workshop for Mental Wellness

Bound By Elegance Shibari seeks to develop an innovative workshop that integrates knotting and artistic ropework to promote mental wellness and mindfulness in corporate and educational settings. The project aims to create a unique and engaging program that leverages the meditative and therapeutic aspects of knotting to support mental health. Participants will explore various knotting techniques, drawing parallels between the physical act of creating knots and the mental processes involved in mindfulness practices. The workshop will be designed to cater to diverse demographics, ensuring accessibility and relevance to a wide audience. By combining traditional ropework with modern wellness practices, the program will offer a fresh perspective on mental health support, encouraging participants to find calm and focus in their daily lives. Currently we provide support through our innovative programs to members of the Canadian art therapy association and the Canadian mental health association using shibari inspired decorative knotting. We are open to creative ideas outside of decorative knotting as long as it aims to create an enriching experience.

Inclusive Brand Identity for Bound By Elegance

Bound By Elegance Shibari seeks to establish a distinctive and cohesive brand identity that highlights its dedication to emotional well-being, self-expression, and mental health through the art of shibari and decorative knotting. The brand aims to resonate deeply with underrepresented groups, particularly the LGBTQ+ and alternative lifestyle communities, by fostering inclusivity and creativity. This project will incorporate Bound By Elegance’s current branding desires, such as the symbolism of butterflies and cherry blossoms, which represent transformation, resilience, and beauty in impermanence. Preferred color palettes of purples and blacks will be integral to conveying a sense of elegance, mystery, and emotional depth. The challenge lies in crafting a brand identity that reflects these values while presenting innovative approaches to mental wellness. The ultimate goal is to create a sense of belonging and acceptance, encouraging individuals to explore unconventional methods of addressing emotional challenges. This collaboration provides learners with the opportunity to apply their expertise in branding, design, and marketing to deliver a meaningful and impactful brand identity that aligns with Bound By Elegance’s vision.
