Hello, I'm Jenny!
I'm currently a third-year Computer Science and Cinema Studies student at the University of Toronto. In my free time, I'm a children's coding tutor for The C.O.D.E. Initiative, where I tutor children ages 7-19 one-on-one beginner Scratch, Python, and Java. I'm also a Video Editor for Q-SITE, a quantum science conference, where I regularly communicate with the marketing team to provide timely and engaging promotional videos, along with regular episodes of their video podcast, Quantum Walk Wednesdays. I'm also involved in the University of Toronto's Cinema Studies Student Union as a Promotions Director, and a volunteer Barista at Caffiends, a student-run cafe that regularly raises money for charity!
Some of my hobbies include longboard dancing and making art! I've completed an 8-chapter webcomic and have had my digital art published in the Vancouver Public Library's magazine, ink.

Individual endorsement
Jenny was extremely efficient in completing all tasks assigned and produced results well above expectations of the average student. Her willingness to assist other members of the team with tricky bugs was a welcomed bonus! If you have the opportunity to work with her you shouldn't hesitate.

Journey into the Uni-verse
October 2024 - October 2024
https://github.com/jolateral/Journey-into-the-Uni-verseI contributed to the creation of Journey into the Uni-verse, an application consisting of mini-games to help incoming students with their university applications and interviews.
I implemented the mini-game, Major Discovery, which is a personality quiz to help users determine what majors they might be interested in pursuing. There are five questions with four options for the user to choose from. Based on their answers, the program uses a points system to determine which major the user's answers most identify with, and delivers the corresponding results scene.
I also implemented the changing of the questions and clearing of the input box for another mini-game, Prep for Success, which prepares the user for common post-secondary application and interview questions. I implemented the delivering of randomized questions from a JSON file, and the clearing of the input box once the submit button is clicked.
Finally, I hand-drew the UI, including multiple clothing options for the user's character to motivate them to continue keeping up with their post-secondary applications.
